Again... haven't been writing much, school... work... art and life in general have stopped allowing me to pay attention to internet or anything else much for that matter.
I haven't had a chance to read many books this semester and it's extremely frustrating to me, as I love reading a tremendous amount. Luckily I've been taking a fiction english class, which has allowed me to read Atonement, The Cat's Eye, Desperado, The Namesake, and a few other books. I am also reading The Makioka Sisters for History, so that's feeding a bit of my reading monster for the moment.
Very soon though, this semester will be over and I will be very happy about that.

Thanksgiving was spent working, all three days really, that most people had free I was at work with my little autistic girl. She's nine years old, and we've had a difficult week so I'm exhausted by now.
That's my new job for the moment. It's going really well so far, but there are moments that are hard, as always when working with autistic kids.

I finally made a semi Thanksgiving dinner yesterday. I cooked my first duck, with mashed potatoes and green beans, and made an apple pie.
All of it was really freaking good!
The duck was nice and moist, the mashed potatoes were amazing.
The apple pie was not quite cooked enough but it was still very yummy. Next time I have to remember to butter up the pan more though so that the crust won't stick, and I will have to remember to either cook the crust for a few minutes, or brush egg white on it.

I made it into a few galleries here in Chicago.
One who just opened out in Elmhurst (which is one of the richest neighborhoods on the outskirts of Chicago) asked me to make a new piece for them.
Here it is... It actually looked ten times better in its frame, I was amazed !

Yeah, it's pretty bad when you are still amazed at your own art I guess, but this is still so new to me that it truly is my reaction.

But those are the news. Now it's December almost, and time to get things ready for Christmas. I'm very excited, unlike everyone else that is around me it seems. I can't wait for my cookie baking week-ends, decorating the house, and all the other fun stuff, like going ice skating, seeing ice sculptures, maybe even sledding. Yay!
