Week-end is already half over and I'm not ready to start another week yet. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little more relaxed and I'll get to feel as though I actually did have a week-end.
Today I woke up much earlier than I wanted to because of the horrendous smell that came from the kitchen. I love our roommate, and his Korean cooking is usually delicious, but when he makes this one thing, with fermented soybeans it is absolutely nauseating. And the smell reaches all the corners of the house without fail. It is absolutely insane. And I don't want to say anything because it's just not something you do. I'm sure we've cooked things for him that he did not enjoy at all and yet he keeps on smiling and nodding when we offer new things for him to try. So I'm trying to be understanding.
But being woken up by that smell is definitely not on my list of things to do.
Then we went to the Garfield Park Conservatory and had a blast, they were showing us all of the plants they have there that provide us with sweet stuff, the gum tree, chocolate, oranges, mangos, bananas, agave, etc, etc, etc... it was a lot of fun and today was really warm, so it made us really happy to be out and about. We did not even have to wear our winter coats at all! We just had sweatshirts and even those were a bit warm at times. Hoping that tomorrow is just as nice, we might go for a long walk if it is with the whole family, and of course Lucy.
I'm waiting to hear back from my friend tonight, to see if she might be coming over to make some art and stuff. I hope so. If not, we will still have some fun with her at some point next week.
